Brook Trout
No other place in the world gives you the chance at catching your personal best brook trout. The upper sections of Lake Nipigon offer pristine waters home to some of the biggest brook trout Lake Nipigon has to offer. Average Brook Trout length between 19-23" with frequent 25"+ fish being caught each year. Brook Trout season runs from spring and closes September 15th.
Lake Trout
Lake Nipigon offers opportunities at Lake Trout topping the scales above 30 pounds. Frequent lake trout over 43" are seen each year on our guide trips. These Lake Trout are targeting by down rigging in the summer and casting in the fall in less than 3 feet of water. Summer guide trips are typically spent down rigging. Fall guide trips are highly recommended. When the temps cool down, these large lake trout push shallow for spawning. Fishing closes on September 30th and those last 5 days are some of the best fishing you will ever experience.
Northern Pike
Shallow spring pike is hands down some of the best fishing you can do on Lake Nipigon. Upwards of 20-30 fish days with numerous fish over 40". Want a chance at a "musky" sized pike. Upper sections of Lake Nipigon offer untouched areas home to pike in the 47-50" category.
